Angels Undercover
Prayer Blankets for Babies
Your Subtitle text
Dear Angels,

We met our goal of giving away nearly two-dozen cuddly baby blankets on the Friday before Christmas! What a joy it was to receive these blankets from across the country and Canada, sent with notes of love and prayers for the child who would be wrapped in this blanket. Some were crocheted, others knitted or quilted. All were beautiful! Some came with little sewn-in pockets with a prayer included for the family tucked inside. Several of you made more than one blanket. And what a joy it was to receive these additional packages just before our Christmas giveaway. But throughout the year, each time the postman brought a new package of blankies, I rejoiced over the generosity of each and everyone of you who participated.

I dropped the blankets by our church the day before the giveaway, which was December 19th,  and discovered, to my delight, that Amy (a local woman who works with the families and knows them well), had offered to identify those families with infants who had the greatest need. With more than 100 families that our church serves weekly at the Mecca food pantry--it would have been impossble to determine those needs without Amy's help. We had record-setting freezing temperatures just days following the blanket delivery. I an certain they were appreciated more than we'll ever know.

Because of the 2008 success of Angels Undercover--all because of you, dear Angels--we will be extending the project through Christmas 2009. Come back often for updates on our progress through the year--and begin working on next year's blankies as time permts. I'll also be updating my blog with more details. Or contact me by e-mail: diane@dianenoble.com.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, dear ones, for your tangible expressions of love!

With love and a heart full of thanksgiving,

Diane
"You made all the delicate parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb.

"You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God!"

Psalm 139:13, 16, 17 NLT

Every child loves a special "blankie" to cuddle with, to drag around, to be wrapped in when sheltered in her parents' arms. Diane Noble's Angels Undercover Project is a way to wrap a child in love and prayer through crocheting, knitting, or quilting a baby blanket for the infants and toddlers of migrant farm worker families who live near her.

Our goal is to again have at least two dozen blankets completed by early December 2009 for distribution to the moms and dads of these babies before Christmas. Contact Diane today if you're interested in pinning on your wings to become an angel--as well as covering a wee angel with love--through Angels Undercover.
